NBC’s Legal Services division comprises qualified lawyers and professional support staff with extensive experience in employee benefits, retirement fund industry and the financial services sector.

The division provides general and specific legal advice to NBC clients on all aspects of law applicable to the retirement funds industry including but not limited to the following services:

• Providing legal advisory support to the NBC business divisions.
• Drafting fund rules, amendments and assisting with the drafting and vetting of policies, agreements and procedures applicable to individual fund requirements.
• Liaising with authorities to ensure registration and approval of fund rules and amendments.
• Providing legal opinions and support on all aspects of law applicable to the retirement funds industry, for example, interpreting divorce orders and legislation applicable in other African countries.
• Assisting in addressing technical queries and complaints from relevant stakeholders as they arise.
• Conducting legal seminars and training workshops on topical issues to ensure that stakeholders are kept abreast of current legislative trends and the retirement fund regulatory environment.
• Issuing publications on industry updates to clients in order to keep them up-to-date with developments.
